U15's Win The Junior Premier League

U15’s secure league title and national championship opportunity

Following a final day 2-1 win over Holbeach United, Future Football Elite U15’s have secured the Junior Premier League - Midlands Blue pision title and with it, an opportunity to compete for the title of JPL U15 national championships at the end of May.

Emulating the great Arsenal side of 2003/04 season, the group have gone the entire league season unbeaten, with a record of 15 wins and 3 draws from their eighteen league games.

Heading in to the final day of the season and needing just a point from the game to secure their maiden title, a goal inside 2 minutes from centre back Bertie Viner settled the nerves. Holbeach to their credit made it difficult for FFE to increase their advantage and got themselves back into the game with a breakaway goal on 25 minutes. FFE kept pushing and despite numerous opportunities, the Holbeach back line stay resolute to keep the game finely poised at 1-1.

In the 37th minute, winger Billy Faircloth snuck in front of the Holbeach GK, sealing the win and league title following a cross from Ashton Derham.

Jubilant scenes followed the final whistle, with the group celebrating with each other and their parents.

’The group have been excellent over the course of the season and to finally secure the title is magnificent. We’ve been made to wait for it, with no game for the last few weeks, so you can see what it means to the group by their celebrations together’ said U15's Head Coach, Garth Good.

Focus for the group now turns to the Junior Premier League ‘Champions Tournament’. The inaugural champions tournaments, taking place in May, the first of its kind will see JPL One pision winners battle it out at Warwick University to be crowned ’National Champions’.

The Junior Premier League is a player development focused league, driving innovation and ensuring every player has a premier experience. The league endeavours to be the worlds best provider of competitive opportunities for development and advancement in youth football.

The JPL is now 11 years old, with regional pisions across the the whole of the county. Englands only National league for youth players from U7 to U18 and is the largest league in the country with over 25,000 players.

’Since joining the JPL back in 2019, we have seen the level of competition consistently rise, with more and more teams from across the region joining the league its become as competitive as ever. That makes the achievement of this group even more special. We look forward to the opportunity to compete with the other JPL One league winners and challenging to become national champions. I’d also like to give a mention to our other JPL age group teams who have competed admirably throughout the season, showing courage and bravery in the most competitive fixture programme to date’ said FFE Academy Director, Dan Goffin.
