End of Season Message
Good Afternoon,
Firstly I just wanted to congratulate everyone on another fantastic season. Whether you’ve been with us all season or just joined, the hard work and dedication from all players and goalkeepers has been something they can all be very proud of.
Parents / Guardians, thank you for your unwavering support, taxi driver duties and sideline support. I’m sure in their own way, each and every player will show their gratitude.
Throughout the season our core technical development syllabus has allowed players opportunities to deliberately repeat techniques and skills to ensure the best possible opportunity to improve and implement these within their matchplay scenarios.
As we look ahead to a new season with many new additions, I firstly wanted to take a moment to share some of mine and the teams highlights of the season.
U15 JPL League Winners
As you will have seen through our various social media channels, our U15 Academy squad won the JPL league this season, finishing unbeaten across all league games, which in itself is a massive achievement.
This secured their place in the national championships back in May, being one of only twelve teams out of 152 other U15 sides from across the country to do so.
With the championships split across two days and only the two group winners progressing to the championship game, the group unfortunately missed out on top spot on goal difference, meaning it was heartbreak at the final hurdle. Nether less, everyone here at FFE is extremely proud of the group and congratulates them on their success.
Girls Academy Fixtures
When we launched the girls programme at the beginning of the season, it was done so with the ultimate aim of being able to offer female footballers the exact same opportunities as their male counterparts.
We are delighted that throughout the season the girls in our programme have had the opportunity to participate in a variety of both internal and external fixtures.
Looking forwards, games against external opposition are already being confirmed for the new season, so as we move into the new year, we are extremely excited to see the continued growth of the girls programme.
Player Progression
This season has seen players across our U7 - U15 programmes have trial opportunities at several professional football clubs including Norwich City, Ipswich Town, Peterborough Utd and Cambridge Utd.
Additionally, we have continued to have internal player progression, the headline numbers are below:
* 48 players have progressed from FFE Development (Now Known as Advanced) into FFE Elite
* 12 players have progressed from FFE Elite to FFE Academy
* 14 Girls have progressed from FFE Development (Now Known as Advanced) to FFE Academy
As we look ahead at next seasons provision, we hope to see many more players showcasing on a weekly basis in training and during our internal match schedule their abilities and progression. Myself and the team are excited about developing and delivering further exciting opportunities for young players right here in Norfolk.
Enjoy your short summer breaks and we look forward to seeing you all on our return.
Yours Sincerely
Dan Goffin
Director of Football
